SAG Awards 2013 Red Carpet! Best & Worst Dresses!
In case you’ve got a case of ”I lost track of time” or amnesia due to your busy schedule, then all these red carpet events should be just the right kind of reminder. It’s January!!!! And we’re invaded by blog posts, articles, news, fashion police shows on all sorts of unoriginal subjects all based on the same money making theme: Red Carpet this, Red Carpet that – Best & Worst Looks/Dresses. Well you got the idea. Told you there’s something so selfishly appealing about playing the fashion cops that we just can’t help ourselves. To cut a long story short and not beat around the bush for too long… here it is: Last night Hollywood celebrated and partied at yet another award event – The SAG Awards 2013. And guess who won? Argo (eat your hear out Oscars), Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain… same people basically. And good for them. Watched most of the films and have to say hats down to them all!The best dressed of the SAG 2013 Red Carpet were by far a few ladies that stood out, looked effortlessly beautiful and had a bit of glamour meets understated elegance: Amanda Seyfried in a blue Zac Posen mermaid dress & Jessica Chastain who looked fabulous in a red Alexander McQueen red mermaid gown. I also loved Jennifer Garner in her gold sequined strapless fitted Oscar de la Renta dress. I swear this woman looks more beautiful by the day. And she seems to not try at all… hmm. There’s your secret. Lea Michele was pretty fab in Valentino. I’m not a big fan of pink dresses (although Nina Dobrev too picked a pink Elie Saab and was gorgeous in it, so… guess it’s a matter of taste) but she pulled it off. My Latina crush was a stunner as always, loved Sofia Vergara in that white Donna Karan gown. Same mermaid silhouette though a bit reinvented (thank God, I was beginning to get bored with her wearing the exact same design every time). It was flowy, fluid, more simple… Fantastic look! Tina Fey & Amy Poehler went for classic elegance in black gowns and looked perfect. Simple Oscar de la Renta & Zuhair Murad dresses that just proved you can never go wrong with black. Helen Hunt was all glamed up but rather simple in her Romona Keveza grey sequined gown and Julianne Moore took the plunge in Chanel and stunned in a sweet, elegant and beautiful dress. The brides of the SAG 2013 were, alongside Vergara, Kerry Washington in a white Rodarte gown & Naomi Watts in a white sequined Marchesa. Other ladies who stunned on the red carpet were Naya Rivera in a black hot mermaid dress, Nicole Kidman in Vivienne Westwood who pulled it off this time (though I thought the dress could have been slightly longer) & Viola Davis who rocked her exotic turquoise Monique Lhuillier fluid dress. Unlike other red carpet events, when the worst dressed list was never-ending this time at the SAG all the beauties managed to pull it off. Though they may not be on a so called SAG worst dressed… the following ladies were not my faves. Or lets just say they were just OK. Well apart from January Jones… what was she thinking? Errr trying to channel a posh waitress on the red carpet? Or Claire Danes in Givenchy? I will not even got there. Wasn’t too keen on Freida Pinto‘s pink gown either, or Marion Cotillard‘s. It looked as if the French beauty just pulled all the fabric under her belt. Julianna Marguiles‘s beauty look was stunning but her dress… OMG. Forget about it. Not too keen on Michelle Dockery‘s black side boob dress either, nor Jennifer Lawrence in Dior. I honestly do not know why I’m never feeling Miss Lawrence’s carpet looks… I swear I try, but there’s just something wrong about some of those gowns. It’s like they don’t do her justice. And though this Dior one was alright… I was (yet again) just a tiny bit disappointed. As for Anne Hathaway… she looked beautiful, from her ankles up. I don’t generally like ankle length red carpet dresses, there I said it. Ah… well, but what do I know. Enough rambling. I’ll just let you decide for yourselves and please feel free to tell me your faves! Enjoy:) photos via People.com & Vogue
