Black & white for a colorful spring. Who’s up for a challenge?

Yes, it’s almost spring and you can finally pull out from the closet your favorite colorful items…it’s the best way for you, fashionistas, to celebrate the arrival of this wonderful season. Actually spring is by far my favorite time of year, it’s all about sunny days, ice-cream, long walks and happiness…the joy of living and seeing everything around you blossoming.
In terms of fashion, spring is about colors…but as we already noticed designers imagination goes further year by year challenging us to wear flower prints and neon colors during winter, lace and leather in the same clothing item, mixed prints…this spring’s challenge is to wear black and white even if the instinct would be to wear all the colors of the rainbow from head to toes. For those of you who did great breaking the rules during the cruel, cold season, this instigation will be insignificant ;)
Black & white is not only about being classy or elegant and it’s not boring at all…you can have a two colors outfit and rock the streets anyway ;)
Here are some nice street-style examples I find to be very helpful in building your new wardrobe.
Remember the article from two weeks ago about the baroque style. This combination of black and white with baroque elements is absolutely astonishing.
You can make your black and white outfit look more glamorous by adding some gold, it could be an oversized purse a pair of gold pumps or even better, accessories…also oversized, of course ;)
And now…. the must have of this season, a black and white striped outfit…try it, and you won’t get unnoticed. If you think a striped top and bottom in the same time would be to much, chooseonly one striped item which highlights your best features or one which helps you cover some small imperfections. Wear vertically striped, flared trousers with heels to look taller, a horizontal striped t-shirt if you want to make this part of your body look bigger… the only thing you have to remember when wearing stripes is to keep the size of the stripes in line with the size of your body. If you’re tall or full-figured it’s better to wear wider stripes, if you are petite you should choose small stripes that are closer together.
How about we add a bit of red to our bi-coloured theme…either it’s just a lipstick, a nice bag or an expensive pair of shoes, the result is absolutely fabulous.
