STRIPES Trend 2015: Why It’s The Best Thing In The Whole World?

Whether they’re going up, down, horizontal, diagonal, mixed or matched STRIPES trend 2015 will forever remain the best looking lines in the whole wide world.

They’re that BFF that basically has it all: relax and cool enough to get tipsy with, polished enough to take to fancy gatherings, lazy enough to binge watch your fave TV shows with, funny enough to make shopping for nothings hilarious, sexy enough to give you swag, silly enough to make you laugh on a bad day. I’m telling you – they’re always there for you, having your back, front, bottom, legs draped in black and white pretty lines.

OR, on those moments when you’d rather be alone, but still wanna feel their support, they show up without putting any pressure, making all the difference in a basic striped T-shirt, or crispy French style button down shirt.

And they give you enough room and freedom to be yourself and do your own thing. Hence their versatility and infinite looks and outfits we can put together with the help of stripes.

Ever since Brigitte Bardot or Jane Birkin did the stripes tee looks in the 60s and 70s, we somehow still find ourselves resorting to this simple yet massive statement style. It does indeed hold a bit of French chicness to it, and that Cote d’Azur summer vibe, no question about it. Hair up in a messy ponytail, or totally disheveled, high waisted jeans or shorts, bare legs in the sand, champagne glass on some yacht, straw bags, summer hats – the French summer look is still emulated by millions to this day.

Personally I find it so effortless and sexy at the same time it’s a must-do in summer. Especially in 2015 with the return of the 70s and retail chains practically bombarding us with stripes. I ain’t complaining man.

Like a true BFF you can take them anywhere and have a style blast:

A striped dress is perfect for office. It looks so polished and so sophisticated it’s insane, and the best part about this print is that it goes with any colour. Actually it looks amazing with a pop of bright red, blue, green, orange or yellow. Think hot heels, or bucket bags par example.

Dress to kill and rule the world in stripes at the office. My picks for you below.

A black and white striped button down blouse, in chiffon or crispy cotton paired with summer pants, pencil skirt, or a pair of great jeans is purely shut-the-front-door worthy. Add some gold jewellery for that expensive effortless rich vibe, a great bag, and your shoes of choice – it’s so chic and fashion-editor-sophisticated it’s crazy.

Striped pants... now these are not for everyone, as I find them really hard to pull off without looking like Dino-the-clown. But if you’ve got the balls, I mean the stripes rock them.

Striped skirts – now these are pretty darn great. Especially pencil skirts paired with striped tops (cropped, or loose and tucked in). This is somehow girl-into-fashion borderline blogger style.

Saving the best for last – stripped t-shirts. Ahh… they are the kweens of my print world and nothing will ever take their place in my sartorial life. I love them with anything and even use them as loungewear or pjs on those Saturdays and Sundays when we say to hell with everybody else and just stay in bed all day watching everything we can.

The best look though remains the black and white striped tee and jeans. You can do this causal and laid back in boyfriend jeans and tennis shoes, or more going-out-ish in heels. A pop or red lips and some major bling will only make the stripes and your flawless face stand out.

Like seriously, it don’t get no better.

So what do you think? Oh… that I’m hopelessly obsessed! Well that I know, but at this point I see nothing wrong with this sartorial relationship. Actually professing my love for stripes is a total no-brainer. I mean how can I say to ‘no’ to them?

The invasion of brilliant street stylers in stripes are certainly not helping.

And now it’s your turn to give me your stripes BFF story. Or not. Whatever floats your boat.
