2024 Summer to Fall Transitional Fashion: What to wear?
It is the best of times, it is the worst of times. Schools start, summer ends, colder weather, cooler nights but warmer days, layering style begins, no more sweating, Halloween is around the corner, indoor spaces look cozier, your long coats, blazers and sweaters are dying to be worn again, boot season is almost here…
Bare legs and long coats, tank tops and baggy jeans, blazers and sandals. The opposites are shining bright and whatever your choice is one thing will forever remain true: transitional fashion is the best. Because layering translates sophistication and the mix of summer and autumn pieces is so eclectic and permitted – it creates theee absolute best outfits.
But what does one have to have or buy or wear for that matter at the end of summer and early autumn to feel cozy enough but still hold onto summer’s tanned legs and warm day nostalgia AND look trendy or just stylish enough for our own amusement and feel-good-vibe?

Blazer
A blazer over anything looks good and keeps us warm, while pulling together the most random, basic or just hobo (chic) outfit. Think cut-off denim and gazelle sneakers with a basic white tank top layered with an oversized blazer.
Or go more feminine and wear an oversized blazer with a silk maxi skirt, and a basic top, and sandals.
Mini skirts, floral dresses, sneakers or sandals, shorts, summer office wear or even beach inspired outfits – ALL look amazing topped off with a classic oversized blazer.
2. Cardigans
Oh… my love for classic waist long cardigans was a tough one to begin with, but now I am smitten forever. They look so so good, cozy, elegant in that old money style that I cannot resist the most basic one. They look very early autumn appropriate with jeans or shorts, and very feminine paired with skirts or maxi dresses.
Also they can be worn over your shoulders and they can still give off this laid back basic yet expensive vibe.
3. Jeans
Yes… it sounds weird but I think I wore jeans maybe 2 times since May… so they’re kinda a staple of colder seasons or just more chilled weather. Anything denim is beginning to announce fall season in my book and it looks amazing.
Wear them with sandals, ballet flats, sneakers, blazers, tees, shirts…
4. Knits
From knitted dresses to sweaters the weather is perfect now for this thicker fabric in summer inspired clothes: skirts, dresses, tops…
5. Trench coats
Yep… nothing will ever top a lightweight classic trench-coat paired with bare legs and ballet flats. It’s very French chic meets laid back American.
