Fashion Essentials For The Great Outdoors
Being a fashionista is a tough gig. Not only do you constantly have to keep up to date with the latest trends, you will also spend a serious amount of time thinking about what to wear in all any given situation. And life is always throwing up challenges. Like how on earth to still look like your gorgeous, fashionable self when you’re half way up a mountain, walking across a windy beach or camping in the wilderness for a weekend? But help is at hand style queens -– see below for some tips on what to wear in the great outdoors.
Trekking pro
Hill-walking is a quintessentially British pastime and surprisingly, loads of fun too! But you don’t have to sacrifice your style for comfort. Some cool high top trainers or a good solid pair of walking boots will be fine for your feet as long as the terrain isn’t too rough, and a wax jacket will keep you warm, dry and looking sharp too. One of the brands that will make you look trendy and feel comfortable is for example Barbour. So before you set off, make sure you make a trip to the high street shops or check out an online Barbour outlet for best prices. If you are looking to create a very feminine outfit, it is easier than you think with a cute dress or a pair of short denim dungarees, just don’t forget leggings or thick tights or socks — it can get a bit chilly up in the hills.
Beach babe
Nothing beats an early evening stroll along a beautiful beach to refresh body, mind and soul. And when you factor in the tousled hair and flushed cheeks, you have the makings of a great look already. Keep it casual and relaxed with a pair of shorts, a plain vest, cosy hoodie and hair in a messy up do. In terms of footwear, a pair of roman sandals or trainers are perfect for flinging off and having a paddle in the sea!
Camping queen
Whether you are going for the full-on camping in the wilderness experience or glamping in comfort, when it comes to what clothes to take it can be pretty tricky. Less is usually more, so invest in a cute poncho or kimono that you can team with any outfit to add a touch of understated glamour. A cosy warm knit for the evenings is also a good idea. Accessorise with a visor, shades and chunky pendants. And wear your hair in plaits or braids for a lovely, hippy-chic look.
Of course, if all that outdoorsy stuff sounds too much like hard work, you could always opt for a break a bit further afield -– tropical beaches only really require one thing for style gurus… a killer bikini! After all, it’s a hard life, eh?
