Granny Panties Are IN, Thongs Are Out
Exclamation point. Somewhere between uber sexy, hot-as-hell looks and trends that fashion is kinda promoting by default sometimes, and the rise of relaxed, Tom-boyish, 70s fashion — looks and styles have, overall, started to be more realistic, more personal and in tune to each and everyone’s own takes on fashion. It’s all a bit more fun, effortless, cool.
On top of this, the sartorial business finally decided to wake up to reality, accept AND embrace a variety of body shapes. Real women do come in all shapes and sizes, and as much as we like to look and feel sexy, comfort and confidence top any hotness out there. Feminism is finally a movement that is understood (or starting to be) for real and promoted by both sexes. ALL of this simply paved the way for accepting variety. And YES granny panties are on the rise.
To be honest I do blame their rise on all the above, but also on our latest penchant for more sophisticated slash retro looks. GRANNY PANTIES are basically reinvented in 2015, and while they’re not your grandma’s panties per se, they cover our beautiful bums a whole lot more than those thongs used to.
Style wise granny panties come in a billion of designs: lace, cotton, nudes, colours, prints, high waisted or low waisted, shorts, having basically one thing common: more butt coverage.
Are they sexier? That is not even the question, but if you insist, yah I think they are, in a very French retro films sort of way: disheveled hair, bangs, granny panties, man’s tee. You get the picture.
There is though a downside to granny panties, and NO it does not involve men, and whatever the hell they might think of them, BUT it’s the undies lines under tighter clothes that actually bug me. Because of this I ain’t saying ‘no’ to thongs on my skinny jeans days, or tight pencil skirts, or God knows what bottoms I’m wearing that might show my underwear’s lines. Other than that I’m all for the comfy and beautiful covered-bums-knickers.
