Easter Sunday Look: FLORAL DRESSES
Bunny this, bunny that, Easter eggs, overdose on chocolates and bright colors, flowers, happy faces, and birdies singing to our happy moods. If I didn’t know any better I’d say I just landed in my unicorn and rainbows world. But I didn’t. It’s ‘only’ that amazing time of year again: EASTER holidays y’all. Which – for those with a penchant for fashion (and chocolate) – only means OUTFITS! *background happy music right now*
For me it’s always when it’s Easter Sunday that I really feel like spring ain’t going nowhere and we can officially splurge on spring outfits, floral dresses, bare legs, cute shoes, spring jackets…
But what does one sartorial lover wear on Easter Sunday?
Do we choose to go all the way on spring looks, or do we use the holiday excuse to just sit this one out and stay laid back? Cause after all… it’s just a family get together where we literally pig-out on food, wines, and those drama-chats.
But I guess keeping our looks decent and not too over-the-top-fashion-forward is one way to look at it. Just now I had a phone chat with my dad about this weekend’s Easter plans and he made a cold case of telling me as loud and clear as he could: ‘Dana get your shit stuff together for this weekend and dress normal. No ripped jeans please. Can you do that?’ To which I replied with the most authentic burst into laughter.
My dad, bless him, still thinks he’s the guru of all fashion things, a true sartorial critic. Which is fine and quite true to a certain extent, what I’m actually most shocked about is the fact that he actually thought I’d show up in some Rihanna inspired laid back look. Hmm.
I don’t know if I should cringe right now, or actually feel proud of myself. I do tend to be a shocker every now and then and stick to my tricks without any consideration in regards to what’s socially acceptable or not.
Yeah. I think I’mma be proud for this one.
BUT… the thing is, any woman, regardless of style and personal favourite looks DOES love a good floral dress. It’s the perfect spring look and the perfect Easter Sunday outfit.
Floral Dresses are a must-have in spring and summer!
Besides, there’re so many ways you can go with wearing one, from the 70s vibes to more retro approach, to classic, to girly, to even casual and laid back.
And they go great with heels and ballet flats. A blazer on top will look more classic. For a more sophisticated style chose a floral bomber jacket (mismatched print alert), or even a leather jacket.
For a casual chic Easter Sunday look I’d chose a mid-length floral dress, pleated, cringed at the waist, with block heels or flats and a simple leather jacket on top. A messenger bag. Perhaps a scarf and a pair of shades and ta-daaa.
Let’s get inspired now and keep in mind that it’s less about what we wear and more how we wear it. Besides… this Sunday it’s about being with your family and friends in that unicorn rainbow world I was telling you about.
Happy holidays you beautiful people and have the best time ever!
