2025 Winter Trend Alert: Massive Fur Coats!
Had you told me 7 years ago, when I wore my first vintage fur coat – channeling my inner mob wife persona – that it would be the start of a long fur coats love story I wouldn’t have believed it. Had I known this love would run so deep and so classic in a very trendy and on point way as well – man I would’ve shopped harder. I bought most of my fur coats circa 5 years ago, feeding this newfound love I had for vintage and new faux fur coats and it took me a while to slow down… only to now find myself again having the fur coats spending itch.
It’s official : 2025 winter is all about big expensive looking fur coats. I never thought they could get any better but they did, so please fashion take my money.
So what is different in fur coats this season?
They’re less tamed and more wild. They resemble more their vintage ancestors, they are longer, or shorter, fluffier, more more more more. The key word this season is statement and tbh I couldn’t be happier with this because I always think a statement piece, such as a coat or jacket is all you need to dress up a look. In my case – I’m lazy most days when I dress up, so I end up wearing pretty much the same thing all the time, well… a statement coat in winter is a style lifejacket for me. Much like a nice bag, or a pair of boots… One good piece can save an otherwise bad or boring outfit. I’m all for this gimmick.
What are the IT fur coats of 2025?
Yes, everything is in… nonetheless there are a few fur coat styles which stand out this winter and they are fabulous!
White coats are having a major moment this cold season. They are luxe, vintage, long, fluffy, big and look amazing paired with denim or monochromatic outfits.
Brown vintage coats are so trendy in 2025 it’s a pity to not invest into one. Remember those fur coats your grandma used to wear? These are it. Long, statement, heavy, and most likely light brown. They look sooo good paired with a denim casual outfit.
Floor length coats are the statement pieces of 2025. It’s Kris Jenner meets Cruella meets this nonchalant 90s babe who wears the most expensive long fur coat like it’s nothing. A don’t-be-bothered kinda attitude mixed with casual clothes and the most expensive looking fur coat there ever was.
I swear somebody read my mind this season when it comes to fur coats. *sigh*
Fluffy coats are a very young cool version of fur coats that look casual but really trendy, and they come in the most cozy designs and most wild colours.
Sherling coats are the definition of 90s and late 2000’s boho chic, a style that will never be dated, and done right it’s such a staple. Grunge styles are back, so is bohemian 90s, so are the late 80s fashion, and 90s Kate Moss looks – so somewhere in here, mixed with Sex and the City SJP 90s fashion is the long shaggy sterling coats.
You know what I’m doing right after this post? Shop. I’ll shop for all the fur coats there ever were, long, short, expensive but affordable… and then I’ll hang them all in my closet and look at them.
