I always thought it’s the details that make all the difference, and I still hold on to this as much as I can. With a tad exaggeration nonetheless, cause you know me, can’t say no to massive bling, funky bags, pops of red or pink bright lips and fabulous nails. Sigh.
And it’s because of these bold details that our efforts for a certain outfit can be reduced to a minimum. Basic anything is in right now, so why not splurge on itsy bitsy things that catch the eyes of fashion and style savvys and give you a dose of confidence, if that outfit is too plain. So I thought why not talk NAILS today, and the immense power they have to give a certain twist to any look: chic, sophisticated, smart, feminine, edgy, funky you name it – depending on the nail art you’re going for. Beware though, this post is not for the faint hearted people, but for those who love experimenting and having fun with the fashion of the nails. I’m sure there isn’t such a thing but anyway. Those who love bold stiletto nails would argue. Is there such a thing as nails trend? And if so, who decides it? And more so, what’s IN this spring/summer?
I’ve noticed alongside the short bright nails, and those styles that are really art on a few inches surface, that long nails are still a massive hit, in oval shape and square as well, according to Rihanna, who, if you ask me is the quite the nail-trend-setter.
But do we like them? Short or long, square, stiletto or oval, one thing is sure: 2014 spring/summer is all about bright fun nails, from baby blues and pastels, to bright pinks, neon anything, yellows, greens, matte whites, prints and patterns. It’s one big party at your fingertips. Add a few knuckle rings and who the hell needs to worry about what they’re wearing. Your nails alone will give away your sartorial addiction, and make you look put together and trendy even if you’re not actually. As a person who loves to experiment with nail colors and shapes I’m all up for funkying it up. Whenever I’ve got long nails, in various colors (that I usually change almost every 2 weeks) I feel sophisticated, put together, stylish and more confident. Great nails betray a certain high maintenance true that, but also give you more freedom to not give a shit what you’re wearing one day, and get away with a more MEH look. Cause let’s face it, we all have those days, where jeans and a plain tee is like the best thing ever, but the moment you step out of the house, everyone’s in a dress and stilettos and you feel like the stupid awkward new kid in school. Not with great nails. I tell you. They’re definitely my style gimmick. But enough with the talk, let’s just have a look and get nail inspired. :) So my lovelies, I’m curious how do you like your nails?
