Street Style – New York Fashion Week, Spring 2013! Funky Outfits, Urban Vibe, Fashion Reloaded!
Today London Fashion Week has officially started and before I plunge into its fashion forward & artsy collections I’d like to take the time and have some fun with you… Yes lovelies, it’s time for Street Style and not just anywhere but straight at New York Fashion Week. Call it an urban insight, a sip of style inspiration or just a fun thing before the weekend.
As usual the crowd was packed with people pushing the boundaries and crossing them one too many times (in a good way) style wise. Susie Bubble‘s humble attitude & original take on outfits make her adoring, and the models before the show are eye candy. Anna Dello Russo… this woman is fun and knows fantastic style (btw, have you seen her H&M collection?).
Fashionistas, bloggers, journalists, editors, stylists, wannabes, photographers… they all went for rather comfy, casual, chic pieces, clashed with funky details for an all-the-way- statement. Sophistication goes without saying, sure, but it was quite comforting to see vintage slouchy T-shirts paired with uber expensive designer pieces. Old backpacks that can barely make it another year pulled through on backs that carries designer pieces too precious to be otherwise touched by something so common. Simple shirts buttoned up, comfy jumpers that were taken to the next level by glitzy glitz pieces underneath or blig blings hanging out. And some fashionistas/socialites went for pops of color, color blocking or strong neon shades that looked fantastic.
Clashing style, making a wave, being different, laid back, urban, glam, chic, un-bothered, desperate for flashes, understated, too dressed up (never the case on such occasion)… New York streets have it all at Fashion Week. Now the question is… Is it genuine NY urban style or just a handful of rich spoiled powerful fashion industry people who want and do get a special photographers/fashion treatment for one week?
