Star Style. Coco Rocha
I’ve always thought models are the best trend-setters & style icons out there! Could it be all the hours spend around stylists, designers? Or the times away on photoshoots? The small styling tips they get… And not to mention the access to clothes, accessories… What a life! And they always look like they’ve just thrown something on and stepped out for a short walk or talk looking amazing. That’s what I love about the way models dress. And that’s what I call style.
They are the definition of effortlessly cool, sexy & trendy. Perhaps they literally just can’t be bothered with fashion anymore, with all those hours spend among clothes and designers, they’ve just grown immune to fashion while ironically acquiring a taste and eye for style.
Coco Rocha the Canadian top model is part of this lot – with outfits styled in such a way that she seems not to give much damn about it, or when she does care, she leaves something undone: hair, make up. Or simply goes for converses or weird looking items that clash with an outfit but make it look stylish in a rather unique, model’ish way. On the red carpet she sometimes looks like she can’t be bothered yet manages to keep the spotlight and make us look twice before we ditch her outfits. Though The Met Gala 2012 was a complete disaster, regardless of how many times I looked at it.
Coco’s style is a bit unpredictable but rather feminine. Sometimes she goes for crazy styles. Other times she oozes so much femininity and sex appeal. Some other times she’s just a kid only to try later on a lady like look. She can go for vamp’ish as well as rock, and she always does it with that nonchalance and sophistication that might be the result of modelling or better yet her in born style. To be honest with you she may not be one of my favourites but I do like some of the outfits and the vibe of her style altogether.
