How To Wear A MAXI DRESS In 2016 Summer?

Well… well… well…. Welcome to what appears to be the dumbest easiest Q ever, when in fact it’s the billion dollar question mark in summer style. When MAXI DRESSES broke into fashion few years ago *everybody* was in one, regardless of personal style. From the fashion ignoramus that labels all-black as edgy, to the fashion guru who knows what’s what – every human being to walk this planet wore a maxi dress during the day at one point. Not me though. Not then anyway. I started wearing maxi dresses long after they’ve gone out of style, just cause back in the day I never really got the hang of them, and they seemed more like a lazy uniform for women all around. I seriously hated that.

Besides, all the maxi dresses from like 5 years ago used to look and be worn the same way: floral, chaotic, cinged at the waist, Kim Kardashian long locks of hair, flat sandals usually embellished in gem stones.

That’s a nice picture for like a day or two, but I felt like it went on and on and on, until redundancy.

Maxi dresses were a hot trend for many summers in a row. Then they had like a sit-back, in favour of the midi styles, and maxi skirts, or culottes, but they were never really gone. I did write a post a while back about maxi dresses being staples, and I think they became a staple. Once the chaos and redundancy were done we filtered maxi dresses, so today in the summer of 2016 I honestly think we’re having a incredibly perfected style of the maxi dress.

Maxi Dresses in 2016 are more sophisticated, they’ve become so much more than the floral huge fabric meant to makes us look like women with a fashion delusional condition.

First of all they stopped being summer-only. Thanks to the 70s comeback maxi dresses for winter and autumn started making statements all around. Long sleeves, prints of all sorts, monochromatic dramatic pieces – worn with boots, or sneakers, and layered with coats and jackets, and bombers, and anything you think of to make your personal style as true as possible.

We’re doing a combo of high fashion meets street style. Maxi dresses that can go from office to cocktail parties for example. Maxi dresses worn with blazers, maxi dresses layered with t-shirts underneath, intricate backs, tube-cuts, and cleaner lines and colours. While prints will alway be in, and so will bright shades, white, black, dark blue, nude, pink, dusted coloured maxi dresses are the new IT thing in 2016.

Pair them with sophisticated shoes, do exactly the opposite of what you did 5 years ago, go for clean styles, whether fitted or not opt for something different than the classic maxi dress circa 2010.

If you chose print maxi dresses have a party of chaos and contrasts.
