A woman’s never-leave-home-without item has outlived time and is at its best with every decade or season collection. The Bag! Yes ladies it’s that thing we all love, and never have too many of (alongside the shoes, may I add)! Whether for work, going out, or holidays the bag is not just a mere item. Or accessory. It completes an outfit. And so many other times, saves one. My mom has always told me ‘It’s not about the clothes as much as it’s about the shoes and the bag! Invest in good bags & shoes and you’ll always look good!‘ You can wear almost anything it’s the bag that gives away a woman’s style, taste, glamour…

What I love about today is that we seem to have outgrown ‘the trend’ in bags. It’s not anymore about what’s in or out this season but what looks good. Is stylish, trendy and sophisticated. Or simple & tasteful. It’s about quality. Though a lot of designers go head over heels to come up with launches of new products… which we all adore, though so rarely can afford – today is the day when you can go wild and original with choosing a bag. And we all go straight to Vintage. We all have our little hidden vintage shop – our little secret, no one yet knows of, or at least few, thank God. It’s our go-to-place for that bespoke stylish chic bag!

Vintage Bags are the best! If chosen right they stand brilliantly over time. In vintage bags it’s the quality that matters, the texture, the design. If it’s a little worn out, folded or torn – make sure it’s in the right spots that just give it personality and sophistication, without appearing old. Vintage is not old. It’s outlived quality and style.

A thing that never goes out of style seems to be the Sexy Chiffon Dress. From its very far away 1st appearance to the very present day, the chiffon dress is a must in any wardrobe. From the red carpet to the streets in millions and millions of styles, designs, colors, prints and patterns this dress is that closet staple that we resource to when we want to feel free, feminine and sexy in a very sweet way. Paired with small tiny heels for a romantic date or boots & and leather/denim jacket for any day or evening outfit the chiffon dress can rock its way through any fashion decade.

The best ones come from the past when a certain cut, design or color was simple enough to let the dress stand on its own and have the woman give it personality. A vintage chiffon dress can be styled in a million ways. Throw in a hat, a necklace, gloves, red lipstick, boots, heels. Go for small or huge bags, for cardigans, blazers or leather jackets on top. Alter it, cut it, embellish it, give it style and personality.

Here are some of my fave vintage dresses perfect for 2012 Spring Summer.

True style always lies not in expensive opulent meaningless pieces one adorns herself with, but in a feeling she creates through her clothes or tiniest accessories. The best style is the one telling a story while mixing expensive with cheap, old with new. The love for all vintage things was probably awaken in all of us a few years ago when Kate Moss wore an amazing yellow chiffon vintage dress she found in a shop in London at a red carpet event. It is cool to look fashionable without trying isn’t it? And quite special and refreshing to rock fashion pieces that are a bit more than just a price or name tag.

Vintage will always be my first love. Ever since I was a little girl and I’d sneak up in my grandma’s old wardrobe to find myself lost for hours in a world of memories, dreams and stories that though not mine, I felt part of. That’s the beauty of Vintage. You carry a history with you. A sad love story or a happy moment in one’s life. My all time favorite Vintage bits are Jewelry! Nothing is too old or too rusty or too broken. An old bracelet next to a new watch is so unique. So is a necklace on top of a Zara blouse for instance. Or a pair of my grandma’s earrings to make me feel special. It tells stories and creates moods for you and the ones around you. Mixed and matched and blended in your wardrobe it gives it a bespoke vibe, old school glamour or why not edginess depending what you wear it with. Vintage when worn right embodies a very personal and unique style & fashion.

Such a big question mark does force one indeed to take a close and brutally honest look at themselves. To confront and not run away from the mirror that always stays with us, weather we like it or not… And I am not talking about physique, which can alter or improve in time, hide, conceal, cheat from underneath expensive designer sometimes so shallow cloaks, meant to keep people away from your true self. So let’s plunge in this scary exercise of analyzing myself. Who I am. How I am. Do I know?

I like to believe I am a good person, who grew so much in the past 3 years of my life, now proud to be walking the path I chose with passion, conviction, love, and heartbreaking experiences. My life. I am happier, wiser and more mature, without ever losing my so very young spirit and crazy heart. I still love to party ’till morning (of course with a bigger price to pay for those sleepless nights), sing and dance like nobody’s watching, forget that diet and indulge in some of my favorite sins: pastas and pizzas, just because I feel like it, don’t answer phone calls, runaway for the weekend with my boyfriend and live on love, chocolate and wine.

I have to remember I am smart, confident and there is nothing I cannot achieve. I always promise myself never to let bad days or bad people get to me… Now here’s something I can work on! But other than that, I almost sound perfect, were it not for the usual faults that make each and every one of us unique and special. And no, I won’t mention them as I like to leave room for mystery and linger some more  in this illusion of perfection, hoping they’ll surface as little as possible. Yes, I am a bit of a dreamer. And I tend to joke a lot, according to my friends who love to have me around for laughs, for singing at parties, for walks around town, for long evenings of talks and thrilling philosophies on life.

But the question still lingers. How do I look? To others? To Romania I look brave, confident, smart, talented, following my dream, like those movie characters who really get it all worked out and get their happy endings. To London, for now, I look small, just an ‘if’ or ‘wannabe’ in bad clothes, scared look and big dreams in my pockets. To me I look all the above and so much more. And as I long as I keep my head up, dust myself off  every time I fall, and remember who I am, the obstacles I encounter are mere challenges of my happy fulfilled life.
