9f9b571844e1b994a4a8fdb963454899No special occasion, event, party or romantic dinner could ever be complete without us ladies glaming up. And Valentine’s Day is no exception. It’s that day & night when we have to look our best for us (in the first place) to seduce our loved one or if single to turn loads of heads when partying with the girls. Though I’m not a makeup guru, I confess I love to be on the look out for makeup & beauty tips, and yes I am one of those girls who love to wear makeup. Can’t live without my mascara & eyeliner. I always say when you wanna look your best (office or going out) it’s not just about the clothes. Hair & makeup play quite the part and all of us girls have a few beauty routines and makeup must-haves that we just can’t live without or that we use every now and then. Like on Valentine’s Day for example… d14236559a8fbeaea6c70f0d480c72baWhat I always pay attention to when it comes to beauty & makeup (especially when a special occasion is right around the corner) is the skin. Drink lots of water, cleansing routine, exfoliating & moisturizing are at the core of a good makeup, just because I feel that the skin gets a certain glow when it’s taken care of and the makeup looks way better on it. It actually looks as if you’re not wearing makeup. Before jumping for the eyes or lips makeup wise, I always even out the skin (primer, foundation, loose powder) and for a uber professional & fantastic effect you can try contouring. Personally I love to do this whenever I have the time (highlight on top of the cheeks, nose bridge, chin – basically where the natural light falls; and conceal under the cheekbones, chin, forehead). For inspiration or tutorials look up Kim Kardashian’s contouring on youtube. She’s like the best example and the guru of contouring. And yes I do think a good makeup up starts with a clean, healthy, evened out and contoured face. Then it’s easy... if you choose to play up your eyes, stick to nude lips and vice versa. It all depends on the look you’re going for. I guess for Valentine’s Day it’s all about the red lipstick so play up your lips and skin and keep your eyes natural. My fave makeups are those that give the skin a bronzing glow &  smoky eyes…. Red Lips? I love them on someone else… just not me. Can’t seem to find the right shade so I just stick to lip-gloss and natural lipstick. Anyway for some Valentine’s Day makeup inspiration I found a few looks for you on Pintrest. Hope you like them :)

pink-lips-eyeliner-new-years-eveContinuing my Holiday Season fashion & style peaks, today I thought of presenting some of my favorite makeup & beauty looks that us ladies may use for NYE makeup inspiration. After all, the big party is but a few weeks away and just donning an uber sexy dress (click here for looks) is not at all enough… there’s yet a style statement to make with our lips, eyes and pretty faces. Plus we’ve got our hot manes and nails… Choosing the makeup for the biggest night of the year may be somewhat of a dread, but if you’re in doubt you can either keep it  simple and natural, or glam it up all the way. Just remember… nobody likes a candy face for NYE. It’s not Halloween is it? So to avoid a caked ultra made up look, just stick to one feature, and take care of your skin.

natural-glowing-makeupSo ladies the first step we gotta take, even before choosing a makeup look, is to hydrate our skin. Lots of water, fruit, veggies, vitamins & sleep will make all the difference, as it helps the skin glow, stay soft & look young. And then… it’s simple. Basically it all depends on the features you love most about yourself – enhance them – and the look you want to get. Dark & Sexy: go for smoky eyes, nude lips (lipgloss is the best option) and face contouring (enhance those cheeks and highlight your T-zone). Seductive & Retro: eyeliner on upper lid, false lashes, matte skin, and go nude or any color with your lips. Here you can experiment with bright or dark red lipstick (take Rihanna for inspiration) or keep them natural, channeling your 1960’s Sophia Loren.

cat-eyes-makeupeyes-makeup-new-years-partyeyes-makeup-party-looksblack-eyeliner-lashes-makeup-lookred-lips-eyelinerrihanna-dark-lips-makeuprihanna-lips-makeuprihanna-makeup-red-lipsThe Glamorous Look is ideal for NYE, and what better time to play it up, than this one? Perfect eyeliner on your eyelids, false eyelashes, sparkle & glitter for the eyes and perfect looking skin with voluptuous lips… Make it a feast and go all the way on makeup! (Kim Kardashian is an endless makeup inspiration here). Bronzed Glow can be the perfect look for Latina ladies (take inspiration from Jennifer Lopez & Eva Mendes), so you can play around with tens of brown shades, eyeliner, perfect contouring, bronzed cheeks, brown-pink-ish lips and false lashes for an uber luscious look. This is my all time fave, perfect for a night out! Oh… and since it’s NYE bring it on with false lashes, they just give drama to any look and make your eyes appear perfect, heavy and ultra seductive. Make sure your skin is all clean, fresh, covered & flawless in foundation, powder, blush and highlighter and you’ll be ready to go. Actually ready to turn heads and break hearts… So ladies… which feature will you rock this NYE? Will you stick to your go-to-look or try something completely different? Simple or Glam?

Red Lips Look

A look can hardly ever be complete without a touch of makeup or a beauty tip applied with care. Whether it’s a simple moisturizer or a full on kit of lipsticks, foundations, shades or eyeliners – we love all beauty & make up bits. This week FashionTag has decided to peek into some amazing makeup looks of sensuous lips in all the colors us girls love to wear.

Pink, red, nude, burgundy, purple, lipgloss, lipstick, lipliner – talk about too many options, right? Not to mention which one looks better with your skin tone, eyes or hair. Then you have the textures, the quality to look for… and the list goes on. Yet no matter how hard it may be (and let’s face it ladies, it is not, au contraire, it’s rather fun) a lipstick of a certain shade & color can make all the difference. It can add jazz and sex appeal to a rainy day, it can be in tune with your fabulous state if mind, or lift it up for that matter, it can be the hot stuff you choose to wear on a date or on a night out with friends. So girls… which shade and color do your prefer? Pink, red, or nude?

Being a city girl who also happens to work in fashion I dare say I am quite into all that is appealing to the eye. Style. Trends. Different attitudes. I love to keep my eyes open for any and all tiny details that make a look or a style stand out, be it a simple ring,  a haircut or Make up. Less of all a make up guru, I do love to let my eyes wonder at the different make up styles out there and I just love to see people get creative while staying true to themselves. Make up is about expressing a mood and a style. It’s art in a very fashion forward genuine way.

Good make up products and a thorough analysing of the features are the 1st key elements of a good make up. Then of course it is the moisturising and then the most important (in my opinion) the foundation. The more the skin is evened out and contoured the more any make up applied to the eyes or lips will look stunning.

I simply adore the Natural Looks: big eyes, high cheekbones, full lips. With the emphasis on the skin’s glowing! And a touch of bronzing effect! Being an addict of the eyeliner and mascara, I love the Cat-eye Looks: everyday looks, retro looks, evening looks. Nude lips and perfect complexion can make this look perfect to wear from morning into the night, to any glamorous event just by adding a touch of colored lipstick. And then it’s the Strong Lips Look. Bright lips! Red, purple, pink, black, brown. Since the ’90s grunge style is pretty much back I have spotted a lot of women rocking the dark lips trend again. It’s quite lusty and vampire looking. As long as the face is pale & evened out it’s a look to rock  at any given time of the day or night.
