Fairytale Prom Dresses. How to Pick the Right One

There are girls who believe in fairytales and girls who don’t. The latter have the upper hand though and know damn well the only real thing about a fairytale is the bloody dress. Rest of it is a bunch of bollocks for gullibles who’ve read one too many… uhm… fairytales. Pardon my sarcasm, it just comes with a combination of brains and reality. Be that as it may, my heart does drop a little and it does skip a beat when it comes to that part of fairytales that involves fashion. The dress, the shoes, the hair, the clinging of the champagne glasses, the cheeky smiles. I couldn’t give a shit about the man saving the woman with his white fucking horse and carriage, cause when we have our own horses and carriages and hustle for our own dreams and love stories, I’ll be damned…

Designer Dresses For Special Occasions: How To Pick The Right One?

Once you get passed April you can literally hear wedding bells every weekend, events lining up faster than sartorials at designer sales, it’s raining with invites for fancy dinners, cocktail parties, red carpets, and outdoor happenings all throughout summer. Ah, the struggles. And no, I am not joking. If you too love fashion but get both excited as well as panicked at the thought of having to stylishly attend the poshest events of summer, know this: you are not alone. We all know, a pretty face, a great makeup and hair, and countless wine glasses in beautiful manicured hands is not all we need. Yes the wine helps, and so does that fab smile, but it wouldn’t hurt to have a gorgeous dress on, would it? How to pick the right dress? One thought: if when seeing the gown you sigh, you make ah, or…

How To Dress Like You’re Going To The Oscars?

High slits. High shine. High heels. Sequins. Ruffles. Bare backs. Long sleeves. Nudes. Blacks. Reds. Greens. No, I’m not reciting the dictionary randomly, I’m just reminiscing about that time we all went to the Oscars, remember? Champagne pouring off the skies, Oscars thrown in our heads post-brilliant-performances, rubbing elbows with the coolest of the cool. Taking selfies with Leo & Tom Hardy. You know, the regular Sunday night. One thing about me is my capacity to dream, so in case you can’t get high on wishes and what if’s… leave it to this idiot, aka moi to do it for ya’. Oh my dear fashion lovers, but you can laugh and smile all you want at the imaginary journeys I usually embark on, but at least I got your back and I got it all figured out. Fashion wise, dresses wise, beautiful evening gowns wise.…

The Slip On Party Dress: #1 Season Staple

This is it people. I proclaim this the IT dress of the century. Actually forget the century, of all times. From its versatility in how-to-wear, to its easiness to be packed and carried even in your pocket to wherever Instagram destination you’re off to, the SLIP ON party dress is the baddest bitch out there. Sans trying. That’s the key. I have no words left in my coloured vocabulary to describe my adoration, love, and lust for this absolutely perfect dress. Okay. I know I have a slight condition towards exaggerating and letting myself get carried away, but I swear to you this time it’s for real. I know it’s not the first time I’ve said or felt that but I really really think this is it. Like I’ve found my #1 staple. So what if I get carried away at times, and give in…

2015 OSCARS: Best & Worst Dressed

If the whole red carpet thing had been about nailing best and worst both in one look, a few of the actresses would have been in big trouble, I tell you. Not Marion Cotillard though. She did what I never thought could be done. She wore a dress so incredibly beautiful through its elegance and simplicity that I instantly said, right then and there, the very night of the Oscars 2015, ‘Dayum, she’s my favourite. Amen bitches!’ But then she turned. What in the name of God is that? A bow wrapped beneath her butt? Oh wait a minute, the haute couture diaper look is in. Ohhhh I get it. Tssk, tssk, tssk, shame on you. I mean me. Other than that I’m in a good mood today as I’m going through the photos and striving, YES striving for the last mean slash bitchy bone…

Homecoming Dresses To End The Fashion Drama

Okay, so I may be too little too late on this one, YET a little reminiscing never hurt nobody, right? Besides summer’s the season of evening events with a black tie et all, and also why not join on the talk & dresses-drama that come with a homecoming event, and have fun digging up dresses, inspiration, makeup & hair while trying to remember the thrills and chills of such a great cliche moment. 😉 Do you go over the top with the frocks or not? Is it classy or trendy? Dark or light? Long or short? So many questions, options and fashion headaches. Well… let’s not despair and divide and conquer. Homecoming is about having fun, right? Felling comfy, but classy with a touch of glamour, edge, or trendiness – wherever floats your boat. So, it may be safe to say the easiest way is to…

The Belle Of The Ball

Warm summer nights. Parties and dances in glamorous gardens. Friends & loved ones close by. Laughing. Eating fancy food and sipping expensive champagne. Yeah… it’s basically our regular Friday night, right? Er no. But if it were… the above far-stretched-from-reality-picture lacks in one major thing: our DRESSES ladies! Cause you know, when a fancy thing takes place, you can’t show up in anything less then fancylicious. So adding to the aforementioned scenario are evening party frocks and cute homecoming dresses for 2014 from DressV. The kinds that make the hearts stop as the warm wind of summer blows through their silky chiffon fabrics. The kinds that rustle as you dance or make your way though guests at that posh party you’re attending. Short or long, intricate or simple, extravagant or classy, sequined, crystaled or not – the cute homecoming dresses 2014 from Dress V – sooth…

2014 Oscars Red Carpet. Best & Worst Dressed

The much awaited film slash red carpet fashion event of the year came and went, in what felt like a heartbeat. And it was great. In fact, fashion wise it was one of the best I’ve seen in a long time. As a film geek and a fashion addict I enjoyed it tremendously sans le Oscar snub Dicaprio was yet again faced with. Seriously? Let’s not go there though. Maybe in a next post. Another ‘seriously! wtf?’ moment for me was Jennifer Lawrence fall. Cooooome ooooon now. You can’t tell a good joke twice and hope it has the same laughing effect you know. That’s what I thought of the fall anyway. And the back necklace. It was Oscars 2013 re-run, that may have us like her even more, or not so much. Great timing that Daft Punk was there to give her a hand.…

2014 Golden Globes: Best & Worst Dresses And Beauty Looks!

Just finished catching up on 2014 Golden Globes and a few things linger in my head as highlights: Elizabeth Moss giving the middle finger on the manicure camera. Finally some fun, right? Beauty looks (read make up & hair) reigning over dresses this year. Tina Fey slams Taylor Swift yet again. Excuse the gloating, just can’t help myself. The cape of Lupita Nyong. The winners. (Leo, with the supermodel joke making it even better. Jennifer Lawrence, though I’ve heard complaints due to her role being so little. She did win for supportive actress, right?) Still don’t like Lena Dunham. There I said it. I have officially self subjected myself to world’s dismay. Debuting the red carpet season, a few trends were making quite the wave: metallics, colored dresses & bare backs. Or intricate backs. Best Red Carpet Dresses & Looks at 2014 Golden Globes.  My faves include:…
