Do Bloggers Have A New Obsession? The Tulle SKIRT.

Don’t know about you, but I am loving all that is happening in fashion these days. Yeah, yeah, I know, it’s all a bit chaotic and all over the place, with everything in and nothing out, but just think about it? No more style boundaries. No more rules. Every style compromise and once sartorial concession seemed to have literally vanished. One day women want to be glamorous femmes fatales, the other it’s all about channeling your Tom boy’ish persona. Ha. ’90’s are happily married to those ’50’s with their feminine silhouettes and ice-cream colors. And if you thought your inner girl or bride to be persona was a No-No place to go with your fashion choices. Pfff. Think again sista’. Just a few months ago we saw women of all ages and styles don this wedding trend, like there was no tomorrow. Why wait? Or…

The PINK Invasion!

That fashion is inconsistent and pretty much all over the place is really, no news. So I don’t know why I’m as surprised as I am for this PINK Trend that’s been going on all throughout fall, into this winter and will definitely linger on onto Spring & Summer 2014. Why the surprised face? Well… with the 90’s trend getting bigger by the minute (if that’s even possible. It is apparently.) pardon my assumption of grunge, black, plaid, rock meets punk and rave everything. But really, thank God for a touch of girly and feminine, although (brace yourselves right now) I don’t really care that much for pink. Actually at all. Actually I hate pastels. And pastels are huge this season. A part of me sees them as retro ice-cream colors worn by ’50’s moms or depraved housewives with eyeliners thinker than a pinkie, a…

2014 Grammy Awards RED CARPET. Best & Worst Dresses

Oh, Miley! Where were you? And Rihanna! A red carpet is never fun without these 2. (the above pics are from the pre-Grammy-gala). Having said that, the 2014 Red Carpet at the Grammy Awards was all about glamour and playing it safe. That’s what I thought anyway. Not that anyone cares. Thank God for Beyonce’s performance with hubby Jay-Z. Pure HOTNESS and talent. And for talent meets awkwardness there was Lorde, of course. Okay, let’s focus on what we give a shit about: fashion on the red carpet. Truth is, most of the dresses were great, only a few having landed on the worst dress. As for the looks, there seemed to have been 2 teams: au naturelle versus dark heavy makeup, both styles being exquisite. As for the dresses, most ladies opted for mermaid cuts, sheer, lace and all the glam that comes with it. Less…

HOT 90’s Trend: Shirts Around The Waist. YES Or NO?

Aside from the imminent inner cry and panic I’m getting right now (talk about feeling old), this trend is pretty darn great. In a casual meets cool kinda way. Plus a slap in the face from reality. You know you’re practically ancient when you’ve witnessed & done the trend second time around. But… maybe, just maybe practice makes perfect you know. Besides, no trend has ever come back without a slight reinvention, so there you have it. If the 90’s had me wearing plaid flannel shirts tied around my waist for less of a style purpose and more for a comfort meets practicality reason, usually with sneakers or Doc Martens, today I can wear just about any long sleeve top (or jacket for that matter) tied around my waist with any type of shoes. Heels please! Oh and skirts & dresses work too. Okay I may have…

Is TINY The New Oversized? We Talk SWEATERS For Spring!

Ha! I guess it’s out with the old, in with the new for 2014 Spring/Summer. New being small & tiny fitted sweaters, the opposite of what we’ve been doing for the past year. Hey, I’m not shouting a trend yet, just thinking a lot about the what if behind this look, courtesy of quite a few ladies who ditched their BF’s tops for a more feminine, sexy slash girly take on sweaters. Think 1950’s (slight obsession alert!) or even late 90’s. Hmm. Not bad. Not bad at all. I must confess the hobo look was getting redundant. Okay, truth is I’m kinda of angry and frustrated right now. Just when I got the hang of, and mastering of the oversized look, BAM! gotta give it up. Well, I don’t have to, but you know what I mean. Cause let me tell you something, wearing your husband’s sweaters…

9 Trends To Wear In 2014 Spring!

Yeah we’ve got a few weeks left until Spring (to say the least) but that don’t mean we can’t start preparing for this year’s hot season. Tons of trends are making their way into the springs and summers of our 2014 lives, and I think knowing what lies ahead can be a great shopping insight and practice-makes-perfect situation until the warm weather kicks in. Who the hell says we can’t start wearing 2014 Spring trends in winter? Why wait? Exactly. Freshly picked off the runways straight into retail chains (if not first done by a few celebs) these trends will be massive this Spring. Sure, some have always been a warm season hit, and apparently continue to woe us year after year, others are really new, and others are well… reinvented. What I can tell you is that 2014 Spring is a fabulous & exquisite cluster of…

A Day In Leather Leggings!

Even if I had tried stalking the sun slash weather report and I could not have asked for a warmer day such as today. Sun shining. Birds singing. Everyone smiling. Colors looking brighter. City noise sounding like music. Okay, I may be slightly loosing it, but hell don’t take me off my unicorn just yet. My fantasy world is bound to crumble soon. It is winter still and the working week just kicked off, so no worries on stress crawling its way into our lives come tomorrow. Before the weekend I was telling you (and showing you here) about some great stuff I got from Persunmall, among which a pair of leather leggings. I was a bit worried on how I’d style them, and whether or not it’s a look we could pull off at the office, and you know what? (being optimistic and shit.…

Style Post: Leather Skirt & Black Blouse!

They say if you wish for something really bad, it comes true. And so it did. Okay, you a bit confused? I will unveil the mystery. Remember the wishlist I made for the winter holidays? With those winter-to-summer items I so longed for in my closet? Yeah. That’s the one. Courtesy of Persunmall I got them and I honestly couldn’t be happier, so loads of thanks. <3 They are staples after all, well at least the leather skirt and the black chiffon blouse. Cause I’ve also wished (and got) some pretty quirky (actually kinda cheeky) leather leggings, but they’ll be the subject of Monday’s post. The little edgy demon in me could just not sit this one out. 😉 (spoiler: I love them!) Today we talk leather skirts & black blouses and how we can style them.  If there’s anything I learned yesterday it’s that the…

Are Men In Polo Shirts Hot? From The Golf Course To The Streets…

Well, well, well. ‘What do you say, what do you know?’ polo shirts are back! Not that they’ve ever really been out of fashion, given their main purpose and incredibly versatile trait, which translates into numerous styles for numerous occasions, ages and walks of life. For all men. Just had a chat with my brother over this golf-look & he agrees they’re IN. Besides, his fashion choices and some of my male friends’ testify to boys’ love for the classic POLO SHIRT. For the past 50 years or so men have stubbornly refused to give up on these. From the Kennedys, to movie stars who paired them with crispy pants on their yacht getaways, to filthy rich men in a middle life crisis and pressed pants, tanned playboys, young wannabe professionals, preppy East Coast boys, all the way to actual golf players, and Scott Disick -…

Crop Tops: The Scariest Trend?!

Between eyeballing the latest fad in town & that illegally delicious cake, we’re left with a ton of frustration, so if by the end you decide to jump on the latest trend wagon or dis it altogether, that cake is already digesting in your stomach and you’re licking off your fingers in a state of both guilt and satisfaction. (with the promise to kick start a healthy meal & workout plan, come Monday). Nobody can make a wise decision on an empty stomach. Truth is, some trends out there can apply to all, and SOME of them only apply to a bunch of people, who are usually aliens and live on air. Such is the case of crop tops, which seem to deliberately refuse to leave the spotlight in Spring Summer 2014. Perhaps that’s a good thing. By the end of this trend more and more…

2014 Golden Globes: Best & Worst Dresses And Beauty Looks!

Just finished catching up on 2014 Golden Globes and a few things linger in my head as highlights: Elizabeth Moss giving the middle finger on the manicure camera. Finally some fun, right? Beauty looks (read make up & hair) reigning over dresses this year. Tina Fey slams Taylor Swift yet again. Excuse the gloating, just can’t help myself. The cape of Lupita Nyong. The winners. (Leo, with the supermodel joke making it even better. Jennifer Lawrence, though I’ve heard complaints due to her role being so little. She did win for supportive actress, right?) Still don’t like Lena Dunham. There I said it. I have officially self subjected myself to world’s dismay. Debuting the red carpet season, a few trends were making quite the wave: metallics, colored dresses & bare backs. Or intricate backs. Best Red Carpet Dresses & Looks at 2014 Golden Globes.  My faves include:…
