A while ago Hollywood’s celebrity stylist Anya Sarre has reached out to FashionTag and ever since we got to chatting and all that fashion talk… we were insanely in love with the woman! She knows good style, she’s got an eye for ultimate fashion and how to get amazing looks without robbing the bank. So you can imagine our excitement when she decided to write a piece for FashionTag and share with us all her fashion tips and must have pieces for 2013. What I love about Anya is that she knows how to style and tip for the uber rich & famous (when money is never an issue) but also for us non-VIPs who are constantly on the hunt for best buys & sales. It’s not about the label, nor about the cash (or credit cards) it’s about the style… And the woman knows it & owns it! She believes that fashion should be affordable for everyone. In her wildly popular franchise “Looks for Less” and “Anya’s Trend Tracker” she shares inexpensive fashion staples with fans of the biggest magazines and broadcast media. Plus she’s a Chief Accessories & Handbag Stylist at Shoedazzle so that should give us an idea on how amazing she is. She could probably glam up any outfit and make it look like a million bucks. So before you scroll down to her article (a definite must-read) I’d love to tell you a few things about this gorgeous super talented woman!
With an impressive portfolio & credentials, Anya Sarre can make any woman who’s got a tiny love for all fashion, sigh and have a girl crush. Ambiguously Carefree This New Year: A Resolution to Shop!
Article by Anya Sarre
Even with all of the harsh weather, the New Year has finally arrived. Yay! There are a ton of new sales going around, and you can be sure to find great items at ShoeDazzle and Birchbox this year. I found myself really lamenting my wardrobe last week, so I turned to my fairy Godmother or online shopping, as some also say. With my new boots, a few tops, a delicious new dress and tons of sparkly jewelry, I think I’ve revamped my fashion fortune this New Year. In the shoe department, I’m not deprived, but I found myself completely heartbroken after losing a pair of boots in December thanks to traveling too much. I’m sure they will turn up, but it also gave me the perfect opportunity to shop without guilt. I started at ShoeDazzle, which to those of you who know, it’s a life saver for those who need style advice and online shopping directions. Before this site, I truly didn’t know how many amazing shoe designers were out there and where to find anything, but I was able to find the absolutely stunning suede boots that I will be wearing from now and ever.
Next thing I really wanted was a new dress. Again, while I’m not lacking any dresses, I really have felt that the percentage of my casual dresses became unbalanced with my fancy dresses for holiday parties. Also, I just really wanted something new and cute to wear with my boots. So I turned to a few of the places that I love looking for dresses that are affordable and trendy, like Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters. Sometimes you can’t find something super cheap at Urban Outfitters and you end up spending over $100 on the brand new chiffon whatever that looks completely adorable–so I have to be careful. Thankfully, Urban Outfitters was having an amazing sale and I was able to find two dresses that looked great on me.I found myself going through some designer looks for bottoms and tops. I checked out StyleMint for some help and found a few sales on American Eagle Outfitters stuff and H&M. I love my new lace top, which goes perfectly with this DIY t-shirt scarf that I made with a bit of ribbon. Lastly, my makeup stock is almost depleted. I just ordered some new stuff from Birchbox to replenish my mascara and lips, but I fell in love with the Color Cube nail polish on sale there. The electric blue is really beautiful even if the weather is making me blue. I really can’t wait for spring fashion looks to arrive, but these sales and all my new stuff will certainly keep me together for a few months.photos via Pintrest, Urban Outfitters & google images
