Ciao a tutti!209698926368965010_hHg4gvBN_cBy Ghintare Survilaite:

How about I start my street and lifestyle column (now I feel like Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, feels good by the way) telling you a couple of things about the city I live in. Padova is a quite small city situated in Veneto, in the north-eastern part of Italy. It’s population exceeds by little 200.000 inhabitants, but each year there are approximately 60.000 students who choose to study and get a degree here. In fact, Padova hosts one of the oldest Universities in Italy, it has almost 820 years old. The University of Padova is also famous, for having had Galileo Galilei among its lecturers. Another important fact to know is that here you can see the second biggest square in the world, the first one being The Red Square from Moscow, Russia. I won’t bore you with information you can find anywhere on the internet, instead I’ll try to give you an inside to Padova’s citizens’ way of dressing, eating and living. As you already know, Italy is one the world’s fashion capitals and I have to admit that people here are really well dressed, at least most of them. Unfortunately, there’s one thing imposible to overlook here, the snobbism. The teenagers and young people in general are dressed basically the same way. There are a couple of must have brands that give you the “passport” to a nice social life. But that’s not fashion and it won’t make a topic of my columns.135248795030371215_HJdFBjZw_cMy articles will talk about clothes, make up, hair styles and, of course, as I said earlier lifestyle. I’m sure all of you are already familiar with the most important Autumn/Winter fashion trends for 2013. But before starting to talk about Spring/Summer collections of 2013 let’s see the cold season’s trends:

Leather: dresses, trousers, T-shirt with leather insertions… It’s neither cheap nor trashy anymore to wear leather. You can mix a nice pair of leather trousers or leggings with a white t-shirt, an oversized khaki jacket and a pair of black ankle boots (military style) for a military look, or you can wear a plain leather little black dress with a pair of stilettos and a simple clutch for an elegant Saturday night outfit.12446-ready-to-wear-fall-winter-2012-13 Oversized sweaters: I think this is every girls’ dream, to feel comfortable and be fashionable at the same time. We can finally break the rule “Always Get The Right Size“. Here’s the rule: One size!

Furs: The colourful ones are preferred.

Studs and spikes. You can see them on almost everything: T-shirts, trousers, casual or even elegant dresses, military boots or really chic high heels, nothing is forbidden. My advice: Mix and Match!

White: who said white is to wear only during summer? You can have a white, beige or cream outfit during the cold season and stand out of the crowd.

Knitwear: Finally you can be warm and don’t look like your nanny. Again, wear your leggings or skinny jeans with a pair of ankle boots and an oversized knitted sweater. Don’t forget to add some colour if your trousers and boots are black.

IMG_7480_1Military: This style is for those of you who are not afraid to loose the elegance of a lady while wearing a camouflage print jacket.

And now, some street-style. Furs ….. 🙂SAMSUNGSAMSUNGstreet-style-fur-vestI’ll try to capture for you the best outfits and single accessory items I see around, while at the same time searching for other   interesting subjects such as hair styling, make up and topics related to lifestyle. If you want me to write about something specific or research something for you, don’t hesitate to let me know, it’s always a pleasure to know your information was really wanted and helpful.231145_10151268476217855_1886711230_n (2)

…and yeah, that’s me 🙂 For a while now I live in Padova, Italy, an amazing  eclectic, fashion forward & cultural city! I recently received my Masters Degree in Economics & Business Administration at the West University of Timisoara, Romania and I’m putting my efforts into becoming a fashion buyer some day. Got my fingers crossed! Until then, I’m “laughing at the confusion, living for the moments trying to believe that everything happens for a reason”. (Albert Schweitzer’s)
